I won’t pretend to be an expert on the “picky eater” because I never had one.  For some reason, our children ate what they were offered.  By accident? By design? A Summer Plan for your family or how to have a better summer!

Summer is just around the corner and if your kids are like ours – it gets boring day after day all summer long. After a week or two of summer the new wears off “summer break” for all of us.  Standbys like TV, movies, and video games become a default for entertaining and containing children.  Let’s break out of that this summer and have a little fun while engaging their minds and bodies. For the next 100 days your children will be home so let’s start planning for a great summer today!

Kid friendly food?

Recently I spoke to someone that asked if MealEssence.com would have a “kid friendly” category of recipes.  She felt that a meal planning website should focus on menu ideas that kids would like.  Initially I thought that was a good idea and told her I would note it and consider labeling some of the recipes.  However, after thinking it over, I thought…everything I eat is “kid friendly” – all food is “kid friendly.”  The issue isn’t recipe choices; it is cooking regular meals and eating as a family.
